Aufgaben
- Position overview: The Plant Manager is responsible for leadership of the manufacturing facility, ensuring that it operates with employee health and safety as the number one priority. You will report to the Operations Director. The job covers all aspects of production, from receiving goods to shipping products, leading the plant and creating, delivering a long term sustainable strategy for the plant in essential responsible areas.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Being the ambassador of Ball's culture, driving the right behaviours amongst all plant employees.
- Lead the activities of the various plant functions to ensure the most effective utilisation of resources: people, material and plant.
- Responsible for recognising, creating and implementing plans to promote diversity & inclusion within the plant.
- Full P&L and legal responsibility for the plant, including involvement in the preparation of yearly budgets and driving compliance with H&S and Fire Prevention laws.
- Continually review plans, methods and efficiency, ensuring modifications to equipment/methods are in accordance with company standards including environmental, health and safety, and accessibility.Introduction of cost reduction/continuous improvement programmes/process.
- Ensure all team members are trained, supervised and adequately supported to carry out their duties effectively and to the highest standard of quality and safety.
- Perform duties of the management representative in the environmental management system.
- Take part in development and maintenance of the integrated management system.
- Represent the plant in all matters and relationships with external bodies.
Fähigkeiten
- Previous experience in a people leadership role within a large manufacturing facility.
- Engineering background, with relevant degree or qualifications.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and operating in critical 24/7/365 environments.
- Strong communication skills across all organisational levels.
- Knowledge of budgetary processes and capital expenditure projects.
- Working knowledge of legislation regarding H&S and Environmental policies.
- Experience working in unionised environment is beneficial.
- Analytical skills and ability to drive outcomes.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
