- #### Your tasks
- Reporting to the Head of Global External Innovation & Business Development (EI&BD), this role is embedded within the EI&BD function and plays a central role in advancing our global partnering strategy. You will contribute to and, based on experience, lead licensing transactions within a highly collaborative, cross-functional team environment, where successful deal-making is driven by collective expertise and aligned execution.
- This is an opportunity to operate at the interface of science and business, translating complex data and strategic intent into high-quality agreements that shape Dr. Falk’s development pipeline and partnerships.
- Key Responsibilities
- Work closely within the Global External Innovation & Business Development team to identify, assess, and advance in- and out-licensing opportunities.
- Contribute across the full licensing lifecycle, from opportunity evaluation (scientific, strategic, and commercial) to alliance establishment and contract execution.
- Lead or support licensing transactions depending on experience level, with the opportunity to progressively take ownership of more complex deals.
- Drive the contracting workstream: structure, draft, review, and negotiate non-binding term sheets (NBTS) and definitive agreements in close collaboration with EI&BD colleagues, internal stakeholders in particular Legal, and external legal partners.
- Leverage strong scientific understanding to interpret preclinical and clinical data, support opportunity valuation, and strengthen negotiation positions with evidence-based insights.
- Anticipate and resolve contract-related challenges by aligning internal cross-functional teams and external partners toward pragmatic solutions.
- Monitor contractual obligations, milestones, and governance processes; support renewals, amendments, and lifecycle management of agreements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure transparency of contract status and key terms.
- Present and communicate key contract-related information to stakeholders and governance bodies.
- Collaborate with Global Commercial New Product and Finance teams to support robust business case development.
- Build and maintain a global network of partners and collaborators.
Fähigkeiten
- #### Your qualification
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD, MSc) with relevant experience in licensing, business development, and contracting within Pharma, Biotech, or related environments.
- Proven experience in in- and/or out-licensing transactions across different development stages, with a solid understanding of pharmaceutical deal structures and BD best practices.
- Strong scientific curiosity and understanding are essential; enabling you to critically evaluate assets and actively contribute to negotiations grounded in data and mechanism-based reasoning.
- Experience in contract drafting, structuring, and negotiation, with a clear understanding of legal frameworks and commercial implications.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within cross-functional, matrixed team environments; deal-making is viewed as a team-driven process requiring alignment, trust, and shared accountability.
- Highly engaged team player with a collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and a collective drive to succeed and “win” as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (written and spoken), German language is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required (max. 25%).
- We support hybrid working arrangements: remote work is possible, but we place value on consistent on-site presence to ensure effective teamwork and communication.
