Elementary School Counselor / Learning Support Teacher

Frankfurt International School in Oberursel is looking for an experienced and qualified Elementary School Counselor / Learning Support Teacher for Grades 2-5.

• In line with the school's mission to inspire individuals to develop their intellect, creativity and character to become independent, adaptable, socially responsible and internationally-minded citizens, it is the responsibility of teachers at FIS to model our beliefs and to ensure a dynamic, inquiry-driven education of the highest standard.
• Instruction and assessment shall be based on the agreed curriculum, and classroom teaching approaches shall secure a stimulating, challenging, structured, safe, and caring environment within clear rules and expectations.
• Teachers shall actively engage in self-reflection and professional growth in order to develop a wide range of instructional strategies, enlarge their understanding of their fields and subjects, and accordingly be well equipped to meet the individual abilities, needs, and learning differences of students.

• We are looking for candidates who have extensive knowledge and experience with supporting students, families and teachers with the social emotional needs of Elementary students.
• Required:
• Fully licensed/certified Elementary School Counselor
• Multiple years of experience in the school counseling role in Elementary School
• Experience with designing and implementing Behavior Support Plans and Functional Behavior Assessments
• Preferred:
• Experience with supporting and collaborating with teachers and families around challenging behavior
• Experience leading team meetings with families
• Leading teams of support professional in data collection, progress monitoring and behavior modification strategies
